As a farmer there a times where you are hard pressed on wether you should call the vet or the butcher. This is Alaska and this is real life. Things happen!
When they do we always do our best to provide the services needed WHEN they are needed. When the existing situation will result in an animal that WILL be fit for human consumption. We simply charge our standard rate for mobile slaughter (we do not charge any additional fees for emergency service).
When the situation WILL NOT result in an animal fit for human consumption (sick, Equine etc.) We charge a $150/head fee. We have a list of dog-mushers that will be grateful for the meat.
